Default Engine bump stop

So I am putting the car back together after replacing the transmission and I pick up the bump stop and think "OK, I guess I will put this back on but I don't know what it does for me'. Is this an initial assembly aid, or does it have an actual driving purpose?

Default

It limits the forward movement of the engine in the event of engine mount/trans mount separation.

If your trans/engine mounts are good, and you don't plan on hitting stuff, then you can omit it
