engine noise
hi y'all.
i was doing some spirited driving on a mountain road a few miles away last friday (friday the 13th if you'd believe it) and my car starting making a lot of noise. i limped to a gas station and checked my oil, it was a little low, so i added some (also found out my filter was a little loose). limped home and it sounded like the TCT noise everyone gets,and i'd gotten some rattle on start up before. so i ordered a new TCT from htg and replaced it this morning. the engine still makes a rattling sound, im afraid its a spun bearing , though there are no shaving in the vtec solenoid filter, and its not dying at idle. it doesn't sound as hard as an engine knock, it almost sounds like its coming from the head, im about to take the valve cover off and inspect all that. next, im dropping the oil pan to see if there are shaving in there. the car drives fine (though i havent driven it more than a mile or two since i got home, i made the whole 80 mile trip back from the mountain keeping it below 4k rpms) it still sounds like a card in a bicycle wheel. it doesn't make the noise when the rpms are coming down, like just letting off the gas and letting it rev down naturally, it doesn't make a sound. the most noise is at ~10-15% throttle, a little more and it dies down. i was just wondering if anyone else has came across an issue like this, or have heard of it or have any recommendations for me while im checking things out.
