yea i dont know what the deal is....maybe some kinda computer calibration thing....it will do 2 bars now and when im in traffic it will go to 3, but fall back to 2 as soon as i get moving for awhile...oil levels good, coolant levels good...idk what the deal is, heater blows hot air so im just gonna ignore it.

Ill swing by the honda dealership tomorrow and see if they know anything, im sure they're as clueless as i am.

Probably thermostat. Vented hood might help from overheating in very extream conditions but it will not prevent the engine from getting to operating temperature, only the thermostat does that. You can check the thermostat by feeling the upper radiator hose. It should not get hot until the engine reaches operating temperature. If the hose starts getting hot right away then you have a stuck thermostat.

see...after i drive around for an hour or so, i can turn it off, get out and literally grab the top hose...

this makes no sense.

If your heater blows hot air, you're probably alright. My Modifried AP1 gauge reads 4 bars summertime when it's really hot, but it takes forever to get to 2 bars (normal operating temp) during these coldest days, and sometimes it even goes back to 1 bar. Note: 30-40d F. Even a week ago, I was getting three bars sometimes.

I have the two smallest slates on the oem hood vented, mugen cap, and one of my front underpanel sections is off right now.

I'm not really worried though.

as i have said before termostat opening to soon or not closing anymore
when your driving in slow traffic it will warm up because there is litle
air moving thru the radiator when driving faster it cools because there is more air moving thru the radiator the thermostat normaly regulates the water running thru the radiator even without a hood the water shoud get at normal operating temp it will only take longer

It is not that these cooling mods are changing the temp THAT much, it only needs to change a few degrees for that 3rd bar to come on or off. It just happens to be that the coolant temp is already very close to showing 2 bars and the mods just push it past the line. I would say that it is most likely the vented hood.. which increases the airflow through the radiator. I would be happy about this, not worried!

No you're just covering up a pre-existing problem. You need to get your thermostat fixed before you run into more serious problems.

You should have listened to the 5 other people here saying you have a thermostat problem.

well i unvented the hood, and put the rubber gasket back in, now i get 3 bars lol so i guess its the hood trick..weird.
A vented hood does wonders on our cars. as long as the engine allows you to enter VtaK, you are OK.
