Espelier springs

I was just wondering if you guys noticed that aftermarket springs don't sit correctly in the tophat like stock ones do. For example, i get the spring correctly lined up on the bottom perch and get the top hat on correctly, the shock will not be angled right to fit both the shock tower(two top holes) and the control arm.

Because of this I had to rotate the top hat a bit, thus making the spring not sit where the stock one would(in the designated groves)

I mean i can't complain the car dropped perfect and is even on all four corners, but i was just curious.

do you mean it doesnt sit with the top rubber bushing? if so that bushing can be taken out of the metal tophat and moved instead of moving the entire tophat.

i could be wrong i havent take any s2k suspensions apart yet. i just recently lowered a evo x and i had to do the samething

The aftermarket springs are shorter, and they aren't going to line up with the same position the original springs.

in theory i think you're supposed to replace the rubber pieces (top and bottom) when you change the springs. you can line up the bottom easily but the top won't line up to the indent marks due to having less coils. all my bottom rubber pieces needed replacement (which i didn't 'cause i was in a rush) 'cause they were all torn.
