Default fixed apparent suspension squeak - Thanks!

I wanted to thank all members of this forum for a suggested fix (I read it in an old post). I had an extremely loud and annoying squeaking noise after drives longer than 30 mi. it apparently came from the front right wheel. took it to the dealer, who heard it, lubed all "suspension points", but the noise did not go away. Of course, the dealer no longer heard it after "the fix".

I did a little searching on this forum, and found the old hood latch solution! Yes - it was the hood latch! A little Campagnolo grease and the problem is gone. What a wonderful resource this forum is! Reading the posts is a big part of my enjoyment of the S.

Glad it fixed the problem. If it comes back, your latch mechanism may be out of adjustment. The whole catch (the part on the car NOT the hood) can be loosened by those bolts and re-positioned if necessary. You will know that the positioning is correct if you can drop the hood from about 1.5 -2 feet above the car. Too low or too high means you need to adjust the catch. This is what might be causing the squeak, but if the grease works, that's a simpler fix.

could someone post the link to this fix. I have recently noticed the same annoying little squeak on mine, too.

TIA.

Try this:

my original question:

Also try searching under suspension squeak hood

I did not move the latch as suggested in the thread above, I just greased it. As xviper warns, the latch might have to be adjusted if the problem persists.

FYI - "White Lithium Grease" is the common lubricant for hood, door, trunk latches. It thickens after it comes out of the can so it stays put longer.

I don't know why I didn't think about adjusting my latch, but now that Xviper mentions is, it makes since. I have to drop my hood from pretty high, and it still doesn't always close. I see other S2000 owners who can drop theres from 12", and it closes easily. Should it be adjusted so that it closes EVERY TIME you drop it from 1.5~2 feet?

I see that you use that green grease, also.
