Default Frayed ground cable

Has anyone ever had this happen to their ground cable near the driver's side motor mount? It was pointed out to me during my state inspection. I believe it's part number: 32610-S2A-900: https://www.hondapartsonline.net/oem...AifX9BO3WjgR7A

Not good. Looks like someone pulled the engine or starter or something heavy and forgot to undo the grounding cables.

No one else wrenches on my car besides me. The last time I was in that area was when I replaced the motor mount. I disconnected this ground cable to give me extra room to get the motor mount in/out.

The frayed damage looks like it may have been done by twisting the cable a little too much. Or accidentally cutting through part of it.

In any event, yes... I'd get a new cable.

I picked up an OEM replacement for $12. I was just surprised to see the cable frayed. It was in new condition when I put it back. The cable makes no contact with anything in the area. I don't think an animal would chew just that one wire.. I don't know, I suppose it'll remain a mystery.
