ok, hopefully i can get some help.

my 01 has 87k on her now. Starts up ad runs great. There is the "ticking" noise coming from the head. Hoping just needs a valve adjustment? best thoughts on that?

also, if i drive nice and easy, not really going into vtech of taking it to high revs, it goes nice and smooth. BUT, if i get on it and take it up into vtech to like 8k or something it starts to make a noise when ever i rev above 3k or around there. It also starts to like sputter if im cruising in 6th going down the high way when i am lightly on the throttle? But i can pull over and turn the car off, then turn it back on immediatily and it will run fine and like normal. Help on both the noise and the sputtering? any thoughts on what could cause this?

is your CEL (check engine light) on? if yes, retrieve the codes.

the ticking noise can be a number of things, it's hard to diagnose your problem with just a simply description. it could be your TCT or as you stated, a simple valve adjustment.

The CEL hasnt come on once the entire time iv owned the car.

ok, so i figured out that the weird stuff happens if the car hits VTECH. It starts to make noise like the cams and valves and what not are going wild. and there is a hitting noise that makes a noise if i let of the throttle and get back on to it.

ANY HELP?
