Has anyone zipped in new rear window? difficult?
I have a 2000 model and the plastic rear window cracked. My local dealer uses an outside shop here in Idaho and there is not much experience with these tops here. At first they told me that someone with mechanical ability could handle it and I can order the part from Honda for $279. I have removed the seats and trim to the point of removing the rear section of the top and spoke with the shop again. Now they tell me I will need a special jig to install the section of the top with the window. I don't see that in the shop manual from Honda.
Has anyone replaced the window by unzipping it? Do you need special tools or skills?

In addition to the zipper, it is also riveted in or something to that effect.
Just get a robbins top for ~ 500 shipped.

I'm familiar with the process. You do need a rivet gun and rivets. Perhaps 2 of the rivets are tubular on the 00-01.
Really, don't just do the window, do the whole top. The labor's about the same. I guess if you've already bought the window only, you can do that.
Either way, the labor is going to wind up costing you plenty.

I wrote a DIY in the FAQ of the Under the Hood section...look for "OEM top replacement"
It's not hard, just time consuming.
