Yeah cylinder one as well, definitely swap them out, it is super easy with the head like you have it now.

Yes, definitely swap the intake retainers & keepers with F22 parts. Inspect the exhaust side and replace with F20 parts only if cracked.

Well....while im still waiting for parts and I was cleaning the deck surface of the block I found something. It appears cylinder 1 has been re-sleeved. Look closely at my first pic and you can make it out. I would guess due to a misshift? Thoughts?

Do you have any more photos of the block, cylinder, & pistons? Looks like No 1 may have suffered catastrophic damage. Maybe, RPM over-run ---> bent valves and damaged cylinder walls? Just a guess.

But, you report the motor did have good compression across the board before you took the head off. Still not clear why the coolant was getting in the cylinders. Since the block has that sleeve its clear the head has been off. If the deck and head both spec out ok on warpage, isnt' the likely culprit the head gasket? What does the old gasket look like?

Also, can you tell if the head or deck have been shaved?

Also, is it acceptable to sleeve just one cylinder, not all?

Before spending a lot of money on that engine, I would want to sort all this out.

She's back together after waiting an eternity for parts to arrive. Running smoothly and valvetrain is much quieter and smoother with valves adjusted. I just need some injector orings because the original ones were trashed. No amount of oil will salvage one of them.
