Help! I think I got duped in an auction

I’d pursue the legality aspect of it before you dismantle the car. Using a windshield vin to determine the vin of the car is nonsense. That’s like someone putting a cr windshield in an ap2 and selling it as a cr. The auction company lied about the car. I’d talk to a lawyer it’s worth it in my opinion unless you can part the car out and get your money back than go back to your original plan of finding the correct motor.

Quick update: I talked with the auction yard and they have never had this happen before. They want me to contact law enforcement to do a Vin inspection. I talked with a local S2ki guy here and he mentioned that the previous owner may have harmlessly replaced the dash because some of the interior doesn't match. So I am going to call the police to report the situation. Unfortunately this delays my goal to get my race car up and running in April.
I will explore options, but I am prepared to except that I am stuck with the car. In that case, I have two options: A) try to put the AP1 motor in my AP2 DBW, or B) Part it out and buy a new AP2 motor.
@Billman, knowing my track car is an '06 with DBW, can I swap the AP1 (assuming I swap trigger wheels/position sensors/misc sensor)?

Eureka. Thank you Billman. Good news is I've already swapped all the sensors, crank position sensor, and exhaust trigger wheel because I thought it was an 05. No other changes needed?

Alright, so after talking with a buddy who has access to Vin information his thought was this was a Frankenstein car. The thought is that the dash shows 22k miles but the engine appears to be older. I did a compression test and it came up with 215 across the board. So, yeah I got screwed. My old engine had a hundred and 140k miles and it had 215 in all four. :/
