Default help! motor won't start.

okay. here's the situation. i had a new motor built. i witnessed my mechanic and my best friend (who's also a mechanic) plug in all the sensors for the motor. it powers up, battery's good. timing is correct. it cranks. but i can't get it to start. i am running a hondata kpro for s2000. can anyone give me an idea of why it won't start. and yes it has gas in it.

i'm not sure. when the car cranked, there was backfire and white smoke. i'm not a mechanic myself and am just trying to get a couple of different scenarios to take to the shop the next time i go up. i will start with that. thanks. keep the suggestions coming!

make sure when your friend put the engine back he hooked up the tranny correctly. If he put fork incorrectly it will seize the motor and it will not start...

Bear in mind you need: Fuel, Compression, Timing and Spark to get her going. Abide by that rule and you can't go too far wrong.

A decent mechanic should be able to diagnose the problem fairly sharpish.

Did your mechanic change over the crank and cam angle sensors to the K20A style to suit the Kpro?

Do a search on F24 engine in the JDM forum for pictures of the differences.

Yes, I ordered everything from the Hondata site for the conversion to my car. The plugs fit and everything. The mechanic made sure that the crank sensor wheel and cam sensor wheel were facing the right way.

I just replied to your other post to check how the wheels are facing but looks like you have that covered. Are you getting fuel?

as far as i know, yes. the fuel pump wasn't broken or never had any problems when the motor blew up. and my mechanic cleaned the intake manifold and made sure the injectors were secure and all sensors for them hooked up. thanks again, kyle.
