Thumbs down HELP! Possible broken differential?

I'm getting this loud thump noise under my rear everytime I accelerate, I believe it has something to do with my differential, but i'm not sure. I taped my camera under the rear with duck tape(I know..ghetto) and recorded the noise. I don't think it's safe driving the S2k right now, but due to the fact this is my daily driver and my only transport to work and school, i need to find out what's wrong ASAP, so i can get this fixed. If anyone has any suggestions or know what's wrong with it, i would appreciate if you can share your idea's.

Sounds like the LSD. Need a new/used diff or rebuild that one.

To me sounds like the pinion teeth are cracked. It is cheaper to replace it with a good used diff than to rebuild the one you have. A good used diff is from $400 to $600 plus install. To rebuild yours would be $500 gears, $140 install kit, $350 install of gears, about a grand before you pay to remove and reinstall it in the car.
Do you have an aftermarket clutch or a set of sticky tires? How many miles are on it?

Before you take our puter diagnosis get it up in the air and check the rear axels, check the diff fluid by removing the drain plug very carefully, use a stiff rag to plug the drain hole. Look at the plug to see if there is a large amount of metal on it. There maybe a small amount, that

sounds like a possible axle but i agree with puddydad, you need to check diff first
