Help with stubborn "catalyst monitor"
Car specs:
2006
70k miles (I'm the 2nd owner and I drive sparingly)
stock intake/header/cat/mugen exhaust
flashpro
According to flashpro I can get every other monitor to ready, but the catalyst monitor has been especially stubborn. The only time i've seen it "readied" is after doing a trackday (and if it weren't for the P0304, I would have driven straight to the smog shop) so I know it's possible for this monitor to ready. I'm just not sure what it takes to make it happen.
I've done the OBD2 drive cycle numerous times (start from cold, warm up until fans are on, 5+ min at 60 mph, cruise down, etc) and it works like a charm for the other systems, but doesn't ever work for the catalyst. I can imagine that the high heat of track driving and the numerous on/off cycles (between sessions) maybe created an ideal environment for the cat monitor to sort itself out--but I'm still trying to understand what the hell is wrong and how the catalyst monitor system works in general. Issue persists regardless of tune. I've used the canned stock+ tune from hondata and i've "returned ecu to stock" and there's no improvement. FWIW the one time the monitor did set was with the stock+ tune uploaded.
In CA, they've moved away from sniffer tests and now solely do a visual inspection + obd2 system check. It used to be that you could pass with 1 monitor not ready, but they recently changed that to 0. In concert with the misfire that i mentioned above, this problem is driving me nuts because I can't get my tags until I get it sorted. I've got ideas on what and how to address the misfire--but have no idea what to do next with the catalyst except convince my wife to do trackdays every weekend until it's fixed.

Check out the Engine Management section and do a search on this. I remember there is a post floating around with the info on how to fix this.
Might be this one but to lazy to read all the way through it haha

Having the same issue
So I need to smog my 08 S2000. No engine mods, cat is from a 04-05 if that matters. I had the battery unplugged so I need all monitors to be ready. Ive driven 250 miles already and the only problematic one is the Catalyst. I tried driving steady on the freeway 55-60mph for awhile, but still not ready.
Any tips on getting the catalyst ready would be appreciated. Need to get smogged by the end of this weekend. halp!

I finally got my catalyst ready by updating the flashpro's firmware to the latest version, flashing back to the stock map and driving for 45 minutes in a mix of in-town, canyon and freeway.
In California you CAN still pass smog with the EVAP system not ready, as long as the catalyst is ready. I just did it three days ago.
