My problem was one of the cat's nuts was stuck!!

Boy did it scream as I took it off !!!

I decided to knock the studs out and use stainless nuts and bolts so I don't have the same problem next time.

WD40 works great on the rubber bushings.

Here's a repeat of my post above regarding the use of WD-40.

I would like to also add that WD-40 is not a good choice as a lubricant. The petroleum content will more rapidly degrade the rubber hangers than liquid soap or the lubricant I used - silicon spray - often available as a lubricant for the nylon rollers in the tracks of garage doors.

As CoralDoc said: WD-40 will often completely destroy exhaust hangers, they pretty quickly turn into goo. That being said and I agree with it, I have used WD-40 on my S2000 rubber hangers (had nothing else around at the time so I figured I would just replace the hangers in the near future) and I have had no problem with them turning to goo over the last 6 months. Perhaps the S2000 hangers are made of a different material than other rubber hangers. It probably does not hurt that my new exhaust weighs 12.7 lbs either. I would use a silcone spray or some soapy water just to play it safe.

What much torque do you have to apply when putting the nuts back on the cat converter?

Sorry I never updated with pics. I have not been able to upload my pics to this site. I'm not very computer savvy and I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what.
