It does help the car lay the power down in corners, IMO... But the biggest two drawbacks I've found (which are related) are heat and the eventual need to replace the clutches.
After a drive through the mountains or a day at the track, or whatever you do, the fluid will basically cook. After that point, the diff will chatter in turns and act up until you replace the fluid. This wouldn't be so bad, but that sh!t is $40/can (1 can is almost enough for two changes, if you don't spill any). So you basically have to change the fluid after any track day/mountain drive/whatever you do.
The other problem is wear. While mine has over 20k miles on it and still shows no signs of wearing out, I still know that eventually the clutches will wear out and I'll have to tear the whole thing open again. To try and prolong its lifetime, I make sure not to run the car with cooked fluid because I figure all that chattering I get in turns after a mountain drive comes from too much friction and that will wear down the clutches faster.
HTH.

I haven't swapped out my diff. on the S yet but I just recently did one on my other car, a Nissan 240SX. I swapped out the open diff. for a 2-way Nismo limited slip which is a mechanical unit. I definitely noticed a big difference in traction and have learned to really like it for what it does. There are no clutches in it as I'm aware of, just gears.
Yeah, my only drawback on it is that it loves to grab for traction on whichever wheel is on the inside of any turn. But thats not my drawback...its when I'm turning from a deadstop either right or left, say like in a neighborhood. That inside wheel just loves to grab and grab almost like your dragging the wheel instead of letting it rotate freely like you get in an open differential.
Still, quite an awesome upgrade nonetheless. I will be planning on adding a Mugen LSD to the S2000 soon.

I don't feel any advantage to the Kaaz based on my experience of 10K-15K miles. I'm not saying that it does nothing...I just don't notice it...at all. As Rev said, the fluid needs to be changed more often. I've changed it about 3 times so far. Once the differential starts to make noise again I order a can and have it changed. I haven't really experience the more frequent burning of the fluid that he describes, but I'm not exactly trolling through mountainous terrain. I bought the Kaaz for increased strength, not exactly handling. I haven't broken it yet (thought I did last week), but we'll see.
I'm not sure what Randy is even talking about, maybe he can explain better.
My opinion is that this is not the type of mod that you'll feel you really got your money's worth...compared to maybe a final gear or a suspension setup.

Dude, I won't be of much help on that one. That's the first I've heard of that. It wasn't my camera, I didn't MPEG them, so I can't recommend anything to help you; unfortunately. Maybe you can catch them on the news.
