Hi all. Hope someone can help me with this. I just got this car yesterday from the cars for sale on this website and drove it 316 miles home.

There is a bearing noise/rattle (not sure which) noise that sounds like it's coming from the left rear. At low speeds and slowing down without using the brakes I hear the noise. Do not hear it at high speeds. As soon as I push the clutch in the noise stops. I found paper work in the car where left rear wheel bearing was replaced ion 04/2016. And on 04/19 he had it in the Honda shop in California for noise in rear but no problem found. It's very noticeable at low speeds. Any thoughts on this?

Check and make sure the brake heat dust/heat shield isn't rubbing on the rotor. Do you have a clip of the noise?

Thanks, I'll check the brake heat shield and get a sound clip as soo as I can.

Block the front wheels and release the E-brake, jack the rear up and spin the rear wheel(s) and see if there any rubbing, dragging or strange noise...

what's interesting is that the noise stops with the clutch disengaged.

does the noise stop if you put it in neutral with the clutch engaged (clutch pedal up)?

are you on oem or aftermarket rear driveshaft?

Have not done a road test yet. I'm old and working in the sun and soaked. You guys in the south know about the humidity!

Remove back wheel and did not see anything rubbing. Turning the tire it felt ok. So I took pictures for y'all to look at.

Just drove it a 1/4 mile and the noise is worse after taking off the tire and putting it back on. I'll go again and get a sound clip if possible

I've showered and thought about this and think that when I got the car last Saturday in had a rattle/squeak noise at slow speed slowing down but went away when I pushed the clutch in. Drove it 313 miles home and put it in the garage until today. Took the left rear tire off and took pictures and posted here. Did not see anything so put the tire back on and drove it. Loud squeak on normal take off and slowing down. Took tire off again and still found nothing. Drove it again and noise still there. Clutch? Wheel bearing? CV joints? Any help would be great. starting to feel like I bought someone's problems instead of a great sports car.

have you tried draining the diff fluid and seeing if there's anything on the magnetic drain plug?

The differential requires SAE 90 hypoid gear oil, so have a quart handy when you check the drain plug. A film of metal sludge is normal. The fill plug is hard to get at and a different wrench size so be sure you can get it out before the drain plug. Extensive discussion on "what's the best differential oil." Just know the SAE 90 spec was changed after our cars were built and a full synthetic 75W-110 oil will work well. 110 being within the old 90 range. A previous differential oil change may not have used this. It's due for maintenance anyway.
