Light issue
Front passenger.
Amber turn signal area. Right blinker works fine Hazards work fine Bulb is good Issue is when I turn the headlights on the front right amber light isn't illuminated. The driver side is. Is there a different bulb from the 7440 turn signal or is it the same bulb? What all can I do to locate the cause of the issue. |

It's a dual filament bulb. One of them is burned out.

The bulb Autozone sold me after using their computer to search my car looks exactly like this, the 7440 bulb
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...2eb0414a16.jpg When I searched on the Autozone website using my cars make model and year this comes up https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...b13fedecea.jpg EDIT: So saw another older thread saying the S2K needs the 7443 bulb not the 7440 bulb? I googled a 7443 bulb and it looks like this https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...f06a03b125.jpg So basically Autozones website and their store computers have no idea what bulbs our cars need? |
But then I see things online like this saying that we need the 7440 bulb?
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...4e51ecc499.jpg Another site says we need the 7443 https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...643d339614.jpg |
7443 is the dual filament. As you can see the 2 filaments inside of the bulb. One is used for the "steady on" function, and the blink function is done with the second filament. Kinda like a brake light. When the lights are on they have that dimmed look, but when you hit the brake pedal the second filament lights up and makes them go bright for as long as the brakes are applied.

That would be the parking lights. AP1s have the dual filament single bulb. AP2s are a separate bulb for turn signal & parking lights. The lists above show parking/city lights as 7443.

Aka you got cucked by autoblown, sorry guy!

Shockingly the bulbs are NOT listed in the owner's manual so I can see confusion since it's different depending on the model year. Changing these is a major PITA so doing it once is preferred. :)

There is some misinformation in this thread. The correct info from a vendor who has been selling LEDs replacements for S2000 owners for 10 years now.
AP1 parking light is NOT integrated into the turn signals. It is a separate bulb from the turn signal. 168 parking, 7440 turn signal. AP2 parking light is also 2 different bulbs. 168 parking, 7440 turn signal. You can find quality LED replacements for your S2000 at our site: JS2K.com!
