you have a burred up 5-6 gear collar.

car off, clutch in, shift to 5th, then shift fast in to 6th with good force, but not gorilla force.

Repeat until it goes in...if it doesnt, roll the car a few inches and try again.

once in, shift back and forth between 5th and sixth untill it somewhat smooths out. 50-100 times if needed.

After that, just USING 5th and mostly 6th gear under load may completely cure it.

Wasn't there also a Billman post about removing burrs with cars momentum?

While driving in problem gear, a series of quick and sharp throttle on, throttle off, throttle on, etc. At higher rpm where more force available.

You have to be able to get it in gear first though, so maybe the previously posted stationary sequence first, then the dynamic one?

In the OPs case, he will shift fast from 6-5.
