My car does this in the morning. Hate it. Took it in for a warranty repair and the dealer could not duplicate the problem enough times to replace the parts. Ill have to go somewhere else.

My car has been doing this every morning for over a year. I'll look at greasing it like suggested in this thread. Its really an annoying sound, especially when people are getting into your car for the first time and you want your car to look and sound good.

same here but its not the sound in the vid allot deeper and mine dose it everytime i start the car

what kind of grease do you use on the starter teeth??

My car makes a loud screaching/grinding sound for about a second also, but it doesn't do it all the time..Maybe about once a week when turing the car on in the morning. Not exactly sure what it is, but after reading this thread, it sounds like it may very well be the starter sticking..Im going to take the advice mentioned above and grease the starter teeth. I'll post the outcome on this thread as Im sure it may help someone.

never have greased em i wil this weekend tho when its not 10 degrees outside lol thanks for the advice

If anyone has done the greasing on the starter Id like to see some kind of procedure with type of grease listed. ( pics if youve got em).
I have this same starter sticking problem first start on cold mornings also.
