Maintenance Advice

Hello,

I recently bought a 2005 Honda S2000 a couple months ago (My first car). I was wondering if anyone had any advice to properly maintain the car. (when to change the oil?, what type of oil to use?, replace the timing belt/chain?, checking the suspension/alignment?, checking the brakes?, interior maintenance advice?)

When I bought the car, it had roughly 98,000 miles. It currently has 105,000 and is running fine with no major problems. I am not too car savvy, but this is my first car and I would really like to take care of it. Thanks!!!

DONT use royal purple transmission fluid , use honda Manuel transmission fluid or gm syncro with friction mod

DO use royal purple 10w-30 in the engine

brakes will let you know when they need to be changed......

leave timing chain alone forever unless it starts making noise

get takeda intake/big bore thottle body/ ported intake manifold

buy a life time alignment from firestone

interior = leather wipes and a vacuum cleaner + windex

buy rpf1's from tirerack

get new spark plugs ngk platinum

buy all your oem honda parts from majestic honda and all your after market stuff from evasive and nemos

your valves are probably perfect

your intake manifold gasket is probably toast

There is a thread called info for new owners (or something to that effect). Its chock full of everything you could possibly want or need to know. It's concentrated on exactly what you are asking.

can confirm this is one of the best value investments you can make. purchased my s2000 in 2013 and have gotten it aligned twice a year since, easily paid for itself

also i would advise replacing your coolant, trans, rear diff fluid and brake fluid as preventative maint

Twice a year? You must be thrashing the car with slicks. I only adjust front toe to zero. In 3 years after replacing all bushings and ball joints my alignment hasn't changed at all other than a small change in front toe.

Don't think outeiroj will response. Posted too long ago. If you need alignment every 6 months, prolly driving on potholed roads and/or using the "feel" technique to park, by the curb.
