Is it me or is a Civic harder to work on than the S2K?

Well, I changed the oil for the first time in my '00 Civic yesterday. I looked for a center jack point but found none :( So, I jacked up one side crawled under the car. I found the drain bolt easily but dang the filter is way up the block and hard to get at. Since I was under the car, I figured I would just do it from there...WRONG!! I got oil all over me, the filter sits above a ledge on the motor and as soon as the filter is off it just pours out. And all over me. Now, while I was putting oil in, I noticed I could have taken the filter off from the top DOH :banghead: The entire time I was thinking how easy our S2Ks are to work on. I never had any problems changing oil on the S2K and have not had oil running down my arm as I remove the oil filter. I will from now on take the Civic to Jiffy Lube or someplace like that. It is definitely worth my time to have someone else do it.

9 times out of 10 a RWD car will be easier to change oil in than a FWD.
 for RWD

Yes the Civic is definately a little harder to do an oil change on than the S2k....But thats about it. Everything else on a Civic should be easier to work on.

The center jacking point on the civic is right behind the rad support in the front. You should see two bumps about an inch apart. The rear jacking point is the tow hook right under the rear bumper.

And....just a safety tip....make sure your using jack stands if your getting under your Civic. we wouldnt want to loose a fellow S2k member.

Peace
