Sounds like compression & leak-down tests maybe next.

not too long after maybe 1200 miles. Yea the previous owner really ran this car into the ground, I can see that now. I’m going to have a leak down and compression test done to see where I’m at. The car is a mess right now but I plan to restore the S & get it back on the road. When I removed valve cover, two of the threads for the bolts were completely stripped. One bolt was literally held together on top just for looks with silicon. The thread of the bolt was dremelled off. Whoever had the car didn’t appreciate it and was a complete jackass just trying to sell it.

Pay attention to where the air is escaping during your leakdown test. This is crucial in determining if you have piston ring failure or valve guide/seals related. Don't just see that there is a leak, figure out where it is coming from.

I have tools do to compression but not leakdown test. I’m gonna have to take it into a shop to diagnose the block.
