I put a can of seafoam in there and drove it for a bit. Misfire is definitely less severe and less frequent than it was before. Looks like the bad gas theory is gaining traction.

Update: Went to work for 4 days, came back to try again, and it seems the problem is worse now. Still throwing the same random misfire code (plus cyl 3/4) and now has added a P0410 Secondary Air Injection System code. Is that related to the cause of this, or a symptom of the misfiring? Unfortunately I don't know anyone else around here with an S2k, so swapping coil packs is out until I can go buy one. The fun part is all my tools/stuff is at home up in Toronto and the car is in NJ. I'm hesitant to try driving the thing 8 hours with this issue floating around. Any ideas on a next step?

P0410 shouldn't be related to the misfires at all. If you're in NJ have you thought about driving to visit Billman?

I literally just realized he was in the area while reading a different thread and sent him a PM.

Hi, did you (or billman) figure out the problem? Thank you.

Just because I hate leaving threads like this without an answer, it turned out to be coil packs. Billman figured it out when I brought it in. Can't recommend the guy enough if you're within driving distance.
