Motor Mount Bolts?
Does anyone have any pictures of the motor mount bolt(s) that bolt the bracket for the motor mount onto the engine block? Or maybe you can describe what you remember they look like if you have a good memory? I think there are 3 or 4 bolts that do this, correct? Are they all the same?
Only reason I'm asking is because either: 1. I have the wrong bolt for one of mine and its too long. or 2. The threads for that bolt hole on my block is messed up. The reason for this being is that the bolt doesn't go all the way into the block on the passenger side... its sticking out from the bracket by an inch or so... and that obviously is not right... I'm hoping its 1. as it would be a lot easier to remedy as I could just replace it. In case you're wondering, my motor has been swapped, and I had a shop do it and I think they might have just used the wrong bolt... If you have any insight, it would be appreciated if you could share it. Thanks! -Will |
The left and right bolts are different lengths. The short bolt you are looking for is likely in the other side.

I'm realizing now why many people advocate not letting shops do work on their car and doing everying themselves or with friends... Edit: Service manual says they are all the same too... ugh... Are they both wrong? Are there different sizes/lengths used? |
You are looking at it wrong...They are the same length for one side, and a different length for the other side.
You should have 4 of the 10X40mm for the passenger side (US models) and 4 of the 10X35mm for the driver's side (US models) HTH |
