Default MY05 stock dyno vs MY06

My buddy just hopped on the dyno for fun and this came out. The car is completely stock.

I thought the numbers were effed so I got on too. The results were verified to be correct.

The second dyno is for comparison of my car with
AEM V2 Intake, J's Racing header, Test pipe, Mugen 06 exhaust, Hondata 06 Reflash (Toda spec)

Comments?

your car has quite an impressive advantage from 3500rpms and up. Now thats a useable powerband.

Impressive!

does your car continue to pull up to 8500 rpms? i noticed you guys only dynoed to about 8100?

Actually this post was more about a stock car making 220hp.

Yes, Hondata + bolt ons gets you that nice powerband but it's not the point. About the 8500rpm, the curve flattens out.

Let's also look at how mods (such as what I have) would affect a stock car with 20 more hp than mine.

ah so the 05 is the first dyno and yours is the 2nd dyno. I see now.

I drove an 05 with the aem v2 intake and it felt slower than my 04 (with a mugen snorkle) shrug. its sometimes hard to compare modified cars to one another. I'd like to say from relooking at the dynos that your car still has a wider powerband though.

maybe his 05 was a factory freak.

That's my 05 dyno. At the track today one of the other local AP2 drivers rode to lunch with me and mentioned that it felt like it pulled harder than his 05...

I'm scared that mods might cause negative effects since it appears that my engine is about as perfect as can be from factory and making as much power as cars that have quite a bit of engine modification.

Neutered Sputniks has an AP1 flywheel. Motor revs quicker. Could be the culprit.
I had a Comptech flywheel in my05 and it made a good difference!

If you didn't do a dyno of your car stock and then a before/after of each of your mods, it's impossible to determine what impact your mods may have had.

As an example, you can click the Dynos link in my sig. I did before/afters of each of my mods and found that my second set of Toda cams actually caused me to lose power. You may have a mod that's having a similar effect on your car.
