Need help finding a diff oil please?
i just installed the Cusco RS 2way lsd. its a great unit. the problem is right now there is just plain honda gear oil. and its not good enough. i'm getting to much chatter from the unit. does anyone have any idea what fluids would be better? i know this unit is there racing spec lsd, and in my stock diff i used redline shock proof but hated it.

i'm personally using amsoil 75w90 in my stock diff. i'm not sure what the differences are or if you've checked out amsoil yet.

I would recommend Amsoil 80w90.
I am mixing the 80w90 and the 75w140 which yields 77.5w115. A little extra vis for high heat, high load outings. |
Mobil 1 75W90 synthetic gear oil works fine for me.

Is the Cusco a clutch type unit? If so, I believe there is a fluid that is needed for clutch type diffs (I can't for the life of me think of any examples right now, but Amsoil might not work either).

Don't know if it will help, but my Jeep is a clutch type LSD also. I add Mopar Limited Slip Additive. I've never been able to find it or anything like it anywhere but the dealer. Directions call for 2-5% "by gear lubricant weight." It quiets my diff down considerably.

really localy the only good diff oils i can get easy would be redline. mobil 1 . so for now i think i am going to use one of those. until i can find something better. the honda oil is just killing me. and i really want the cusco diff oil but no one can get it.

I would bet that adding friction modifier would solve your problems. Probably would even work with the Honda oil you've got in there now. But what kind of Honda gear oil is it? I thought people were having trouble getting the correct diff oil from Honda.

I think that you should call Cusco and ask them.
