You think the CV might be shot on the driver side rear axle since it only happens during accel?

Have you swapped the cups?

Sounds like it might be your clutch disk. Ive heard something similar to this on another car. The conditions were the same too. Turns out the springs in the disk broke.

I have a 2000 AP1 and I had a transmission rattle too. It occurred in all gears, even neutral, when clutch was pushed in, everything. It would happen when driving straight, and turning right, but it would go right away when I turned to the left. I thought I needed a new clutch, then a tranny, but the actual problem was super weird. So you know how the oil cap on the top of the engine is right at the back of the engine bay? If you're a little too aggressive with spinning that off, it can actually fall behind the motor, and get stuck on top of the transmission. Sounds unlikely, and I dismissed this for a month but I have a friend who has an inspection camera so I thought I might as well. Turns out that little bastard was right on top of the transmission, where the tranny meets the engine. If you can, do a check. Does it have an aftermarket or oddly new oil cap? Something to check, especially if it saves you from getting a new tranny or clutch.
