i am debating on wheather i should try and replace the rear differential myself or wheather i should just shell out the bucks and have someone do it. Few questions and comments in regards to this are as follows

1) i do not have a lift, is that a necessary tool or will jacks do just fine?

2) how much time is this looking to take if i do it with a friend?

3) how much does a shop usually charge to have this done?

 

U dont need a lift. I've swaped a diff in 30 min before! thats just removing it. And another 30 min to put the other back in. A shop shouldnt charge more than 200 bucks for this job.
