Default new clutch

wel if you remeber i put a thread on last week about cluch slippage. i finally got to the dealer and they replaced the clutch, pressure plate and to bering under warrenty. i had only 2500 miles on the car. i love this car though at the clutch not holding up under very mild abuse. i am worried I will have this problem every 6 months or so and cant see honda replacing all the clutches and under principle refuse to get high perf clutch for the little hard driving I do. any news if honda has long term solution for the clutch. the mechanic who fixed my car said that the clutch is not any thicker then a civic clutch and with hard starts and full rpm shifts these discs wont last to long.wtf

I am not sure what clutch thickness has to do with it..

What you can do is get an ACT preasure plate and have that installed, it is supposed to increase preasure on the clutch by 44%. I noticed a difference right away and the clutch feels alot more solid/strong now. You should be able to get by with using the new disk that you just got installed with the new preasure plate. It should run around $300-350 bucks and another $400 for install.

Hey Thomas

I put in the ACT clutch since I blew my clutch twice already in 22000 miles.

Hopefully 3's a charm!!

Slow clutch work at 8-9000 rpm will definitely kill the clutch if you power shift. How many times did your clutch smell bad?

i wanna buy a racing clutch but i have NO CLUE what to get and I am really afraid that I will get ripped off, because after 20,000 miles i had to replace my clutch. I went to the dealer, and they charged me 1200 bucks! and that's with a discount! anyone got some suggestions?

"mild" doesn't come to mind here. "abuse" surely does.
