If I get a trickle charger to keep the battery maintained and prevent freezing, can I leave it hooked up and not disconnect it?

Yes--that's what I do every winter

If you want a really good trickle charger--look at CTEK. They start about $40-45 and go up but will last you the rest of your life. They come as standard equipment (in a bag in the trunk) on most exotic cars (like Ferraris) --exotic cars dont get driven a lot and the owners typically plug in a trickle charger so the factory supplies the car with one.

They have a bunch of different connections as options--one is a small connector that you attach to your battery and leave installed then when you want to plug in the charger, it's very easy (no clamps on the battery to come off or be in the way of the hood)

I have two of the smaller ones (a 4.3 and a 3300) --best prices I found on them was thru Amazon.

Crap. I wish I would have seen your post before I bought my battery maintainer from Amazon. I got the "Black & Decker BM3B 6V and 12V Battery Charger / Maintainer" for $18.99 (free shipping).
Is this thing good enough? Or do u guys suggest against it?

Good luck OP! Best way to learn is by getting your hands dirty. Be sure to check out the Speed Academy ASS2000 videos on youtube, if not already

For #8 above, the best combination in my person experience was 70mm Berk HFC and Greddy SE twin. Subtle when it needed to be and a screamer when it counted
Thanks for the exhaust suggestions! i'll definitely check it out! I'm hoping it just slides into place without any extra modifications

EDIT: might as well upgrade to a high flow catalytic converter. Project Ass2000 used a GESI HO-Series

I had a great viewing experience watching the Ass2000 rebuild! Those guys did a hell of a job. But they promised more additions and i haven't seen any

I will most likely upgrade my oil pan to the one they suggested (with the flapper gates) to prevent oil starvation around hard turns.
Some day I will have saved up enough to put a customized Twin Screw supercharger on it.
looks like that Greddy SE twin exhaust kit is DISCONTINUED Unless i am mistaken and you could provide a link, that would be fantastic. Could you (or anyone) suggest an easy install for a complete exhaust system that includes a proven and emission standards high flow Catalytic Converter. Thanks

P.S. that "GESI HO-Series" used on the Ass2000 looked like a pain to weld together. I think i will pass on that.

Exhaust is still available via GoTuning. The HFC never threw a cel on my '07 AP2 so you should be good. Also, the exhaust and HFC are a direct replacement (no welding required). Good luck!

Thanks! That's fantastic! I'm very relieved to see that it's still being sold. Much appreciated

I didn't look very hard but I'm pretty sure that is the best price available for that part. I checked my local dealer and they wanted about 20% more compared to what I paid for. I thought s2000 parts were supposed to be cheaper than other sports cars :-(
Do you think I over paid?
