noise is driving me crazy! rear end by wheel noise
ok, so for a couple of days, Ive been hearing a slight squeaky noise coming from my rear right tire, my car is pretty low, and i figured it was my tire rubbing so i didn't pay any attention on it.
Well a week passes and i noticed it got louder and louder by day, the noise seems like a SQUEAK with a slight grind sort of like when a brake caliper gets stuck or the pad is hitting the rotor, i took everything apart and nothing was wrong, the only thing im thinking now is possibly being the bearing that's going out, the car only has 75k on it, so its odd but it could be none the less, i tried moving the rotor and it does not so some one told me the bearing is out of the question, the axle is not vibrating either from what i can tell and the rotor is not warped, CAN some one please throw some guidance my way, this is driving me insane, can the bearing be bad and not move when i shake the hub?
- this i have noticed about 5 minutes into driving the car after being parked for a while, then it progresses

From your description it sounds like a wheel bearing is going bad. I have had both of my bearings in the rear go out on me. The first one failed at around 80k and the other failed around 100k. From my experience the bearing can be bad despite the fact you cannot feel it wobble when shaking the rotor. If the rotor has a lot of free play that usually means that the bearing has fallen apart. It is most likely that your bearing has not fallen apart yet, but it is on its way. I would be very careful, because once the bearing fails it can destroy your hub and axle as well. It happened to me, and it was very expensive to fix. Try to get it checked out ASAP.

well, it could be the bearing but like i mentioned, there is NO play at all, some others are saying it could be the axle that has dried up since i dont have spacers on it and the car being so low. so i well check out the axle first before i move onto the bearing
