OK here I go again, Ill get to the point. Loosened the bolt a bit, moved the washer aside and dont quite see the shoulder as pictured from above. Here are some crappy pics. (I had more pics but they came out so blurry couldnt see shet )

(dont really see the shoulder, instead looks like something with ridges)

how it sits now-

Havent started it yet because Ive lost one of the valvecover garment things so its not bolted down yet..

Have you lined up everything to TDC to see if it's correct?

carrera4 - yes everything lines up correctly, but i didnt have it at TDC while doing this though since I wasnt pulling it all the way out.

SSmS2k - you can see the O-ring in my first picture. Doesnt have to be out far at all. oh and yes, its pretty long ...I doubt youll even have to take the valvecover off to do it. but dont take my word for it

That "thing with the ridges" Looks to me like the shoulder, but it has broken pieces off the edges... it looks to me like the person tightened it down wrong, and it wound up breaking that edge... it shouldn't be 'ridgy' like that though...

In your latest pictures it looks like the allen is sitting down far enough though...

Ok, I liked half of what you said the other half, not so much.
So now I guess Ill have to wait until I find that dam valvecover washer thing to start the car and test it..I hope theres enough 'shoulder' for the washer to sit on properly..Whether or not its the problem to the noise, (even though it is a problem) I appreciate your help and guidance John
