I'll have to go with wheel bearing as well. Mine did the same thing. The noise is virtually non-existent when starting out, but gets louder as I keep driving. Xviper is right about the heat being the enemy. If you drive on it too long, you run the risk of damaging the hub as well.

Good luck!

Is it possible that the noise would just stop. If it was something serious, like a bearing, don't you presume it would persist.

The noise has disappeared. Geez. I'm glad it quit, but now I'm afraid it's gonna come back like 2-fold or something.
I hate to trust a dealer to honestly tell me nothing is wrong. I'm sure they'll find something even if it's nothing.
Blessed!

Anything with auto mechanics is possible. Although a bearing issue can be a serious matter, the issue itself may not be at the serious level as yet. We don't know what exactly, your noise is. A description of sound over the internet (in print) cannot give anyone a solid opportunity to tell you what the cause can be. All that have been posted here are based on "best guess". Only someone with mechanical experience who is able to touch your car and hear your car and drive your car can even stand a chance of being right.
