Not engaging Vtec

Default Not engaging Vtec

My buddy drove my car and said it supposely isn't engaging Vtec? How can i check or what is wrong?

Okay, first was it warmed up. You need three bars before it will VTEC. Second, have you checked your oil level. If the oil pressure isn't high enough it won't engage VTEC. Third, if he didn't have it WOT you won't "feel" the transition of VTEC as much. Fourth, you have been here for 3+ years and dont know these things.

Go drive the car and see.

whoa easy, i've been here for 3 years but i never owned the car till last night. Yup the car was warmed up to 3 bars but regarding oil pressure i will check it. thanks for that information.

Sorry, CHECK the oil on a regular basis. Like every fill up until you see how much oil it uses. Some use hardly any some use up to a quart every 3K miles.

If you are standing in front of the car. It is on the front right side of the valve cover. About 3" inches back from the front. It is black.
