O2 sensor
Replaced my primary O2 sensor and the CEL is still on, tried clearing it twice, just comes right back on. Am I correct in thinking the car will just turn it off when it gets all the readings it wants?

whats the code its giving?
|
might be your cat

There are two O2 sensors... did you replace the right one? The light normally goes off as soon as the new one is hooked up.

I have a stock header with the supposed bad O2 sensor, and i have a SOS test pipe with a CEL fix. The code is reading the forward sensor before the cat. I replaced it and the light still stays on. I did some research and found that on some Integras and VW's will turn off its own light when its ready. I know our S's are not Integras or VW's but its all i could find.

Code please. There is something happening that is making ur O2 sensor read the way it is. If u changed the O2 and the problem is still there then u did not fix the problem. Further diagnosis is needed.

I dont readily have the code right meow, but I will get it tomorrow if i have the time. I think it might have been P0130 or P0132.

If the problem is fixed, the CEL will go away on its own after a few driving cycles. However, if you manually cleared the CEL it should stay off if the problem is fixed, so it obviously isn't. Did the CEL appear shortly after installing the test pipe? Did you use a direct plug-in replacement o2 sensor or a universal type that you have to splice wires to install? The universal type are notorious for tripping a CEL...

Direct replacement Bosch. Im going to give it another day or two then im gonna start switching stuff around

I wouldn't bother changing anything till you get the code.
