Default Occasional Clunking Under Deceleration/Vibration on Throttle

I am currently experiencing a clunking/popping sound that appears under deceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear around 3k-4k rpms. It happens a few clunks at a time. I am not sure if this is related but I also have a slight vibration throughout the car when slightly accelerating from 4k in any gear above 4th. My shifter vibrates/moves slightly also. Everything propeller shaft related seems to be okay and to be honest I've experienced this issue for like 2-3 years now haha. Got a new differential about 4 months ago due to cracked casing, no difference. My 2005 Honda S2000 has 94k miles on it.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Have you checked the engine mounts?

Maybe worn axle cv cups, worn both sides (fwd and reverse) from multiple swaps already done?

How many miles on car?

Are you lowered? Do you have rear axle spacers installed?

did your problem get worse over the years you mentioned or its steady? (Which would be weird)

94k miles. Nothing is leaking and it’s not consistent enough to be an axle issue

It’s been steady over the years. After driving it hard briefly it’ll make the clunking noise under decel but it’s usually not present when the car is cold. Very strange… don’t feel like dumping big money into this issue when nothing appears to be “broken”

it’s throughout the chassis of the car slightly. And it also caused the shifter to vibrate slightly. Motor mounts look fine too…

When I inspected under my car, I noticed a prop shaft bolt half way backed out. I torqued it to 34ftlbs with some lock tight. I’m still hearing the popping and getting slight vibration. I wonder if all bolts were stretched… would this make the noise? These are a b**** to torque down/remove too

I have zero experience with the propshaft (its between the gearbox and diff right?). The bolt could could either be part of your problems or a result of your problems. Did you find out more yet?
