we should also add what type of oil we are using. and maybe even the production date of our cars...that might yeild some insight to this. i know that the older FRM blocks (my old prelude 91 just happined not to) had oil burning issues with the first castings of FRM blocks. honda got the process right with the late 91's and thats exactly what i have.

i burn zero qts between oil changes and i use Mobil 1 10-30 full synthetic and i drive an MY04, i'll get production date later.

Now at 42K. Still no measurable oil usage at all in my 5000 mile change interval.

Burned .75 qts in the first 1,000 miles. I topped it up, and haven't noticed any loss since then (9,000 miles on the car now). Honda 10w30 up until a month ago, Amsoil syn 5w30 now. MY07 - January '07.

I don't think I burn any old either.
1st oil change @ 3300 miles, 2nd @ 7500
(oil life indicator showed 10% oil life remaining and yes, I did reset the indicator after 1st oil change)
I use 5-30 Mobil 1.

AP1's drink OIL LIKE A BEEEOTCH Im not blaming the oil I used for my old consumption problems, but im convinced the mobil 1 and royal purple contributed to the consumption drastically.

I would never run mobil 1 again....and I used to be a fan.

Ap2 AMSOIL ATM > mobil 1 ap1

use the extended performance atleast if u use mobil!!

First change @ 5k with Havoline. Second change at 7500 with Valvoline.
Now at 9k and will switch to Mobil 1 at 10k.
No oil usage ever noted.
