Default Oil leak? Burn't smell started last week.

Late last week I started getting this burning smell from my engine bay, I couldn't figure what the problem was so I went ahead and did an oil change, oil was dark but still very good, I've been concerned about these spots on my engine, I finally got time to get around to asking about it, I was wondering if its leaking? If so, which I am pretty sure it is, how can I fix it? Should I replace the gasket, the engine has 72k miles on it.

Yes its leaking alright. Replace the valve cover gasket and that will fix it.

I would replace the gasket. But you might be able to re-torque the bolts and stop the leak (don't over-torque). If you replace the gasket, make sure you buy a couple of extra spark plug tube O-rings. They tear easily.
