Default oil leak or compression leak?

when i gas it..it drives like water/oil got into the spark plugs..i used to own a 96 vtec prelude and i accidently got water in in the motor when washing down the motor..

my ap1 feels somewhat the same thing..im thinking it might be an oil leak maybe the seals? ..

but after around 4k or 5k rpm it seems to go away..
doest sound very good in idle either...

i checked the oil to make sure there was enough..
im not very good with cars..just took general auto classes at the local comunity college..

any help would be greatly appreciated...

i havent gotten it checked ..i will be this weekend..but i wanted a general idea before going to the dealer..

anyone have any ideas on where i should take it? in the socal (anaheim area)
good idea to take it to a dealer rather then a performance shop?
anyone know what i should expect to pay to get it fixed ?

thank you

you never explained your symptoms...you know, for those of us who have never experienced water in the motor.

What seems to be the problem
What are your symptoms??
I doubt it is oil or compression causing your issues.

when i gas it just seems to cut in and out..
like cutting in and out of power..but i can feel it in the pedel..
it seem to cut out when i gas it..btwm 0 to 5k rpm..
when it first started it was bad..
its like a jerking or jumping when trying accelerate .. until i get past 4 to 5k rpm..
sorry a lil hard for me to explain..

feel it in the pedal? as in feedback? any cels? any maintenance or mods done to the car recently? try resetting the ecu? could be many things...

based of of your brief explanation, i would bet its electrical.

typically sounds like an o2 sensor type problem. With the bucking at low rpm and then it stablilizes in the upper rpm, and black tail pipe could mean running rich.

try this, when the bucking happens, try going WOT and see if the problem goes away.

i tried accelerating..but it doesnt go away....
so i might just need to replace the 02 sensor?
resetting my ecu..all i gotta do is unplug that battery rite ?

i just assumed it was an oil leak bec it seems to loose a substantial amout of oil..everytime i change it ..i just assumed it was internal..

thanks..

its hard to say really. if you know someone with an obd2 code reader that can tell you the code thrown and give you a start of where to look.

when the problem arise, did you try going WOT
??
