Oil Leak Question? From Vtec solenoid/Cam
Hey guys got a question. I noticed I have a small oil leak coming from either the Vtec Solenoid or the Cam-Chain-tensioner. My question is do any of these have a o-ring or gasket that can be replaced to fix this problem? Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

The vtec solenoid has a gasket with a screen as part of the gasket. Is your vtec working?
Make sure whats leaking first either ones gonna leak and the oils gonna end up at the bottom of the cylinder head. I had the same problem i wiped it clean and checked a few days later and saw it was the solenoid. I replaced the gasket for the solenoid and it still leaked i ended up just using hondabond around the edges and its been fine since.
the tensioner has a rubber gasket i believe on the inside where its in the motor but nothing on the surface where it bolts up? its been awhile since i removed one

I had the same problem. The leak was minor, and I think part of it had to do with the torque spec of 7.9 ft/lb. My torque wrench didn't click and I was afraid of stripping the head which would be a PITA to fix. I'll try hondabond if it continues to leak, but I think it's now fine.

Those bolts can just be reasonably tight by hand (as long as they don't back out). You definitely don't want to overtorque them. If you use a 1/4" ratchet you shouldn't be able to snap them by hand and as tight as you can comfortably get it should be about right.
As noted the VTEC solenoid has a gasket at the head interface, as well as one between the two halves. The TCT also has two o-rings that you can replace, as well as one under the service cap.
Hondabond should work as well.

have a real close look with a bright flashlight, sometimes the valvecover can leak right in that location and the oil will drip down behind/around the vtec solenoid and make it look like that part is leaking.
