How much oil? A light coat or more?
Fish - has your v/c ever been off? There are seals b/w the v/c and head - if these dont mate, you could end up w/ oil on the washers. Usually though, it isnt all four. If the electrode and threads are clean - I won't sweat it.

from what i can remember, the oil was on #2 and #3 plugs and it was a very little amount. the reason why i am slightly paranoid is that i have been hearing a faint fluttering sound coming from my engine when i slowly accelerate between 2000 and 3500 rpm. i'm not sure if this is normal engine wear or the dreaded #4 cylinder problem some of our fellow s2k owners have experienced. i hope it's not the latter. anyhow, thanks for the insightful replies. - fish

If the #4 plug is very oily then you need to see your dealer. A little amount of oil is normal if it's even between the plugs.
