Default Is the oil plan weldable?

The NPT threaded hole that was drilled into my oil pan by a previous owner was run in too far, so the male adapter will never seal. Considering having a friend TIG the adapter in place, but is that pan straight aluminum or pot metal? Anyone tried to weld on one?

It is cast aluminum and can be welded with a TIG.

Moroso sells a baffle that is welled in the pan. There are several threads about installing it.

You can clean it down to the metal and JB Weld it too.

No problem welding it, just make sure it's perfectly clean from any oil or dirt.
Here is my temp bung.

You can do a lot of crazy things in this world, and then deal with the consequences.

If it works, and is simple, it is not crazy.

Ahh no, i wouldn't trust JB weld on containing a fitting/oil to save my life. It might work in a pinch if you had to as a very temporary solution, but yeah your crazy to suggest it as anything else.
