Open the door - water drips
Hello,
first of all, i have searched the forum for this problem but i do not found anything similiar: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-library-144/ So, sorry if this was allready discussed....
My problem is that some water is dripping on my knees / runnign down the inside of the A-Pillar when i open the door if it rains. It is a little bit annoying.
I have cheked the rubber seals, they are in good condtion, soft and not worn. The roof sits flush and thight to my eyes. The Roof and rubber seals on the passenger side looks 100% identical to the driver side to me.
Any suggestions that adress this problem?

You may want to rub some silicone grease into the rubber and see what happens. You really need to rub it in well not leaving much residue. 3M automotive dialectic grease is the same as Shin Etsu and is reasonable. (You can use it for lots of things)

Thank you, i will try this and report back.
Is it possible that this "water catcher funnel" at top of the A-frame or windshield rubber seal (last picture) has deformed over time?

Done. I hope it helps......
i dont get 3M silicone grease here in Germany, so i just get my trusty german brand silicon grease.
Flanders, thanks for the hint, i found the holes at the bottom of the chanell. They are free and unblocked.

On the top itself, the rubber seals also can retain water.

I've noticed that with my car, if its raining and I open the door, the water beading off the roof and running off the edge of the top likes to land on my leg as I get out of the car. Its because there is no drip rail on the edge of the top, so water is free to drip off the edge of the roof.
Is that what we're talking about here? Water that runs off the edge of the roof? If so, I'm not sure anything can be done about that...

Thanks for your replys and input.
@ Slowcrash 101: You mean between the seal and the top?
@ Car Analogy: No, some drops runing down the edge of the Roof is no reason to complain and perfect fine, i know.
My Problem is that some water (two or three shot glasses- thats to much IMHO) coming down from the edge where the roof and windscreen mates. The dashed yellow line in the first picture of this thread is exactly where this happens.
Sorry, i am not a native english speaker, sometimes its hard to describe...thanks for your patience!

I was in the car wash today, and: No Luck. The tiny stream of water that comes from the roof is just barely missing the "Catcher". That is annoying. Suggestions?
I you look cloesly at picture Nr. 2 in this thread, you see adrop of water at this postion.
I tried to visualize it:
