Default Opinions on idle sound

I’m a beginner when it comes to assessing and diagnosing. I’ve learned a lot from this forum, but I don’t have a trained ear for my idle. Here is video of my idle after driving it for a while and then restarting it. Does it sound like a TCT replacement or a valve adjustment is needed? Or is this a normal idle? I appreciate any feedback.

Sounds normal to me. These engines make a bit of clatter. The fuel injectors make noise, the manually adjusted valves make more noise than hydraulic valves most other cars use.

Usually when valves get out of adjustment they make LESS noise. A little noise is a good thing.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and post. I was not aware that a little noise is desired.

Sounds normal to me as well. They make a little noise.

And just remember. You ARE the liquor Jim. So you have nothing to worry about.

Why not put a Billman TCT in there anyway? What’s the mileage on your current?

Sounds like mine. I don’t hear and TCT noise.. When it’s quiet you should be worried. At some point maybe get a baseline valve adjustment/lash done.

I’m at 105k. I probably will replace it in the near future, but I have a few other priorities before I get to that if it’s not making noise. It’s also not a cheap part.
