That's not good enough, at least pull the valve cover and inspect your retainers.

Just do a quick valve adjustment. If any are tighter than the rest, those could be bent. If you find any significantly tighter, do a compression test and see if its low. Both will cost you $0 if you have the tools already. Can borrow compression testers from autozone for free too if you dont have one.

Why post and ask for advice if you don't plan to follow it?

These guys don't know what happened to your engine. They're telling you how to evaluate it.

Just say "thank you" and take your chances.
