Haha inadvertent head pun. You can use a thicker head gasket, but if you go too thick you alter the quench area in the CC too much and this can lead to misfires, due to combstion instability.

I would take out the short block and have it looked at. There might be shavings which can cause additional damage after slapping it back together and praying.

I found this in the fsm
  1. Maximum resurface limit is 0.2 mm (0.008 in.) based on a height of 105 mm (4.13 in.).
