Please Help -- Stalling Problems

Hi Guys, I'm fishing for some advice/help with a problem I'm having...

When I go to neutral (for example, coming to a stop light), my revs drop all the way down to the point of stalling and the car starts shaking as if it'll stall. This has been happening for a couple of weeks, but today, it did stall -- twice. I also noticed that this ONLY happens when my temperature is at 3-bars...

I just chk'd the oil in my car yesterday and it's full...

Any ideas on what could be causing this and a possible fix? Also, do our cars have some type of idle adjustment like at the throt. body or something?

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance! :)

Could this be another "thump the MAP sensor and the problem is solved" type of issue? Try it out, it's free!

If tapping map sensor doesn't work, have you ever changed the spark plugs? Similar symptoms but less severe were cured in my car after replacing factory issued plugs.

If the map sensor thump doesn't help, also try to tighten the throttle cable adjustment (take up the slack). Also, try a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank.

make sure your "add-on" electronics isn't the culprit first ;)

Thanks for the info guys -- I'll try out the MAP sensor tip today. I have chk'd the spark plugs and they appear to be fine -- brownish hue, not wet with oil/fuel etc.

Ok, I just "thumped" my MAP and made sure that it's tight in. While doing so, I noticed something odd...about the MAP "wire" from the actual sensor to wherever else it goes.

Here's a couple of pics:

It looks like the regular tube that houses the wire is disconnected at that point and the wire is wrapped in electrical tape?! Is this how the "stock" MAP wire comes???

Xviper -- what's your idea behind tightening the throt cable as a potential fix?

I wouldnt worry....now your car is like those Indy cars....gotta keep the rev's up so it doesnt stall. Just think of every light as a pit stop...LOL. Just kidding!

....Hey, it happens to me too occasionally....I just keep the revs up :D
