Hi Jason. Great video on the rear coilover install. But quick question. You didn't mention preloading the bushings before tightening the A-Arm bolt. Do you feel that it's needed?
I always preload the two bushings on the front A-Arms since I remove those but it actually didn't occur to me to preload the bushing where the bolt goes through the rear lower control arm. The car hasn't handled any strangely but I definitely think it should be done. In fact I should probably be preloading all the bushings so there is no torsion at the new ride height.

Fortunately, I'll be doing another set of coilovers this week that I can film and eventually revise. Thanks for pointing that out Steven.
I know it's a pain in the butt and makes the job harder, but you really should clock the upper arm bushings no matter what when changing ride height more than .5" The rear UCA takes something like 94ft LBS and the shock/spring makes it tricky to get a socket on rear most UCA bolt. You'll have to use a long wrench and pray you're a human torque wrench. It's not that big of a deal on the lowers because you're going to get the car aligned anyway, and since alignments are done with the suspension loaded it's fine. The two piece bushing at the front of the rear LCA doesn't need to be clocked, but can't hurt to do it as well.

To be honest you should clock every single part of the suspension that uses a rubber bushing, including the top hats.

Thanks for the info as always, before I post the video I'll send it your way.

Been absolutely busy the last 3 weekends and haven't had an opportunity to do much editing. Will try to crank out a few videos this week.

Long time no post

I've mostly healed up from my accident and have begun posting DIYs once again. Here is the very common CV bucket swap DIY I filmed!

Wow! I've done a really poor job updating this thread. I've ramped up production lately and tackled some of the requests in this thread.

I've started to do some more discussion type videos on the common S2000 problems like this that aren't strictly DIY but are visual aids

Going through the backlog of stuff I've always wanted to do..

This was a highly requested video that I should probably share more often in clutch pedal freeplay threads

Lastly, delving into some light mods on the CR

phew!

I'm only putting knowledge from this forum (that Billman, you, Car Analogy, Windhund, and more contribute to) into video form. I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants.

Your "clutch pedal freeplay" video is outstanding.

Take note of where the narrator says, "turn the rod until resistance is felt".

Once you hit the resistance, the linkage play is absolute zero. In reality, it is 1% to 3% movement of the master piston.

This setting is absolute optimal. As you will still have 96% reserve zone before pressure is built against the fluid itself.

Hard to understand and even harder to convey with words. Just follow that vid to the T and enjoy a perfect shifting car.
