Be prepared to replace the sensor! I tried to clean mine and it did not work. I ended up buying a used steering rack with torque sensor in prep to change the whole thing. Started with replacing just the torque sensor only and voila, it worked. Replacing the sensor can be a task and I didn't find any DIY on this forum but with a few cuss words and working around tight spots it can be done : )
