Default Problem with glasstop

I recently installed an 2002 glasstop frame with new OEM glasstop to my '00 AP1

Everything works great but i noticed i have some wrinkels above the rear glass window when the top is up. People are reporting here it should go away if put in the sun a few hours.. havent seen much sun last days so they are still there..

Next problem.. Do these straps on the inside be this loose when the top is up?

Anyone chime in?

i too have the same problem, i did a quick search, and it seems that the straps were installed improperly or not installed at all. mine are dangling haha. looks like you need to do a complete tear down again to fix the strap.

Did the same conversion a year ago to my '00 - straps should be tight....looks like the rubber cap/cover in the middle is missing too.

Take a pic of the rear area from inside.

If you have a 02-up frame (you should see springs on the sides connecting the rearmost and middle bars), the rearmost bar needs to be exposed. If it's inside the nylon flaps, you need to pry open the retaining strip on the middle bar, separate the velcro'ed flaps, have the rear flap go over the bar and then reconnect the velcro, reinstall the flap into the retaining strip and use a rubber mallet to close it.

As for the elastic straps, those need to be addressed soon. Purchase new modifry top fix straps for it.

In the meantime, take extra care when you put your top down. The front bar (the one connected by that failed elastic strap to the middle one) has to be pulled back manually to fold properly. If you dont do that, there's a good chance your new top will get rips.

Hmm now im getting worried.. i took some extra pics like you guys asked..

the 2 front straps that are LOOSE seem to have no function at all, when i put the top DOWN, they get even more lose.. The top folds up/down perfectly by the way.

i DID installed the 2 straps in the rear, which will the last bar down when putting the top UP and there are 2 springs that PULL the bar to the other bar when putting the top DOWN

I can see now what the modifry straps do: http://www.modifry.com/products/ctf/details.htm

Looks like they lower the top some more. i'll order those to be sure.. So that fixes ONE problem..

Where are your rear support straps? They hold the weight of the glass up. I can't see them in the picture.
